Popular TV and film actor Amit Behl is celebrating his 56th birthday today. He has been active in the world of television for 25 years. He has worked in Hindi, English, Marathi, Punjabi and Urdu in over 100 soap operas and shows. There is hardly anyone who does not know him. Amit was born in Mumbai and always wanted to be an actor. During his university studies, Amit joined the theater. He has worked in several shows and that too in many languages.
Amit gained recognition in the television world with Doordarshan’s “Shanti” in which Mandira Bedi was seen in the lead role. Shanti is without a doubt one of the most popular shows in Indian television history. On the show, Amit played the role of Vijay. It became immensely popular in its first series itself.
The actor has also been seen on several other popular shows after Shanti. He was part of Savitri, Buddha and Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. His versatile acting gave him a distinct identity. Speaking to The Times of India, Amit said that, like others, he too had encountered problems during the pandemic.
He said almost everyone is struggling. Getting out of the house for work was scary. You couldn’t run your kitchen without going out to work. He mentioned that he had to break his fixed deposits, apply for the loan and even sell his car. He added that now things are improving. During this conversation, Amit said that after working in almost all media, television has a special place in his heart. He said that if there has been food in his kitchen for 25 years, it is because of the television and not the movies or the OTT.
